Registry and Allocation MexDer Account System  

The Mexican Derivatives Exchange, MexDer, counts on a system of multiple intermediation monitoring based on a unique identifier for each Client who participates in the market. The previous with the purpose of avoiding market concentration in some accounts, to know the positions of those accounts and to watch that they do not exceed the position limits previously established, without concerning the number of intermediaries with which the Client is trading, as well as with the number of Clearing Members with whom the Client makes the settlement of its operations. 

 

The Registry and Allocation MexDer Account System has the purpose of generating randomly unique account numbers, allowing the use of those numbers during the negotiation and clearing processes, as well as to achieve the objective of risk management on a consolidated way by each Client. The System provides each Client with a unique key through the registry and validation of this code. Further, this account number allows the consolidated analysis of positions by Client, without concerning the Client intermediary.

 

Objective of the MexDer Account System:

The System has the objective of providing each Client with a MexDer account number that identifies him in a unique way as a participant of the market, as well as to serve as a tool for risk management.

 Basic specifications of the Registry and Allocation MexDer Account System:

  • It allows the registry of accounts according to the type of Client: either the Client is an individual or a Corporation, or whether the Client is national or foreign.
  • The MexDer account number assigned is generated randomly with a total of 5 numerical figures, unique for each of the Clients participating in the market. 
  • It guarantees the allocation of a unique account number to a Client in order to operate in MexDer, the Mexican Derivatives Exchange. 
  • The account number assigned to each Client is used within the other systems that conforms the MexDer’s operative platform.

When registering a Client, the system automatically assigns an account number; it will not require the intervention of any personnel of MexDer, except for those single cases when the criteria of equivalence with any other Client previously registered are fulfilled.

  • If the equivalence criterion is fulfill when registering a Client, the system assigns the same number that has been assigned to him previously. 
  • If the system finds similarities between the Client that is in process of registration and any other Client previously registered, the intervention of the personnel of MexDer will be required to solve for this case; for such effect the system will provide the necessary information.   
  • The personnel of the Clearing Members must also be registered in the Registry and Allocation MexDer Account System. These personnel must be certified by MexDer.
  • Corporate accounts must have at least one or more responsible individuals for handling it. 
  • The System allows consulting each one of the participant Clients in the market. 
  • The System allows carrying out modifications, exclusively in the allowed fields. 
  • In order to clear an account in the MexDer Account System, it is necessary that the Client does not have open positions.
